Polished & Pretty Nails is a nail design and nail care resource. It exists because I kept saving nail photos I had no idea how to ask for, buying polish that looked wrong on my hands, and paying for manicures that chipped in four days. The guides here are the answers I wanted and could not find in one place.
What this site is
Design roundups, colour guides, shape guides, and practical nail care, written to be specific. That means real polish shades and brands rather than “a nice pink”, real price ranges so you know what a set should cost, the exact words to say at a salon so you get what you pictured, and honest notes on what holds up and what does not.
Every guide is written to be read by someone standing in front of a wall of bottles or sitting in a salon chair. If a design is fiddly, it says so. If a shape breaks constantly, it says that too. There is not much value in a nail blog that tells you everything is beautiful and easy.
Where the recommendations come from
Personal experience, a lot of time in salons as a client, and a lot of testing at a kitchen table. Shade recommendations come from wearing the colours. Wear-time claims come from actually tracking how long things lasted on my own hands. Price ranges come from what salons in the United States are charging, and they vary by region.
I am not a licensed nail technician and I am not a medical professional. Where a topic crosses into health rather than aesthetics, such as the brittle nails guide, the advice stays on the practical side and points you toward a doctor for anything that could be a symptom rather than a habit. Please treat it that way.
