This policy explains what information Polished & Pretty Nails (“this site”, “we”) collects when you visit polishedandprettynails.com, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to describe what this site actually does rather than to cover every hypothetical.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this site’s hosting provider records standard server log information when you visit: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of the request. This is used for security and to keep the site running.

This site uses Google Analytics to understand which guides people read and how they find them. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information including approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser details, pages visited, and time on page. It is configured for aggregate reporting; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. Google’s own handling of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and you can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Information you give us

Email sign-ups. If you subscribe, we collect the email address you enter and use it to send nail guides and updates. We do not sell, rent, or share subscriber email addresses. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Contact messages. If you email us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Comments. If commenting is enabled on a post and you leave one, WordPress stores the comment, the name and email you supply, and your IP address, and it may be checked against an automated spam filter.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site uses them in three ways: essential cookies set by WordPress so the site functions, analytics cookies set by Google Analytics as described above, and, where you follow an affiliate link, cookies set by the retailer or affiliate network to attribute a purchase.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking analytics and affiliate cookies will not stop the site working.

Affiliate links

This site contains affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may set a cookie so that a resulting purchase is attributed to this site, and this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not receive your name, address, or payment details from those purchases; we see aggregate commission reporting only.

Full details are on the affiliate disclosure page. Once you leave this site, the destination retailer’s own privacy policy applies to what happens there.

Third parties we use

Hostinger hosts this website and processes server logs on our behalf. Google Analytics provides audience measurement. Pinterest is used to share content, and if you use a save or share button, Pinterest may receive information about that interaction under its own privacy policy. Affiliate networks and retailers handle attribution as described above.

If ad networks are added to this site in future, this policy will be updated to name them and describe what they collect before they go live.

How long data is kept

Analytics data is retained according to the retention period set in Google Analytics. Subscriber email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely unless you ask for removal.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict how it is processed, and to withdraw consent at any time.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights arise under the GDPR and UK GDPR. If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. This site does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, get in touch via the contact page. We will respond within the time frame required by the applicable law.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS and we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes, such as adding an ad network, will be made before the change takes effect.
